Fukuoka Vlog|Hakata Gion Yamakasa in Nakasu
Fukuoka Vlog|Hakata Gion Yamakasa in Nakasu

One day in July, I came across Hakata Gion Yamakasa in Nakasu, Fukuoka.

It was an ordinary afternoon, but the street suddenly changed with the sounds, costumes, colours, and movement of the festival.

To me, the beauty of Japanese living is not only found in furniture, tableware, or homeware. It is also found in the rhythm of the city, the feeling of the seasons, and the way tradition becomes part of everyday life.

When the Yamakasa passed through Nakasu, the afternoon felt full of energy. Voices, wood, fabric, colour, and summer air came together to create a scene that felt very much like Fukuoka.

JBuyLiving starts from these small moments in daily life. Through a designer’s eye, we hope to slowly record the beauty of Japanese living, and to curate Japanese furniture, homeware, and everyday objects that can naturally become part of overseas living spaces.
